NTSE(National Talent Search Examination)

National Talent Search Examination popularly known as NTSE is conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for identifying talented students who want to pursue higher education in Science and Social Studies streams. The examination is conducted at two levels i.e. first, state-level talent search examination and then, National Level Talent Search Examination. The State Level Talent Search Exam is conducted by 29 States/07 UTs for all students studying in Class 10th. The students qualifying in State Level Talent Search Examination are eligible to appear in NTSE stage II examination to be conducted by NCERT. The aim of NTSE scheme is to award talented students pursuing education in Science and Social Studies stream with scholarships to help continue their education.

Scholarships & Rewards: Around 1000 scholarships are awarded for entire academic career. From the year 2014-15 there is a change in amount of scholarship from 500/- per month to as given below.

  •  Scholarship of 1250/- per month during class 11th and 12th.
  •  Scholarship of 2000/- per month during graduation and post graduation.
  •  For PhD as per UGC norms. 

 

Latest Changes in NTSE from NTSE 2018 (Stage 2) exam:

  • There is no paper on language test.
  • There is no negative marking in both the papers.
  • Only candidates qualifying in both the papers separately will be considered for merit.
  • Selection of the awardees will be made on the basis of total marks obtained in both the papers.
  • From the year 2018-19 reservation(@27%) to Other Backward Class (OBC) will be implemented in the NTS scheme.

 

NTSE 2018-19 Stage 1 Detail (For M.P State students): Based on performance in written test approximate 284 students are selected from M.P. state for NTSE stage-2.
